There were nine million tonnes of construction and demolition waste produced in Ireland in 2021. This amounts to 48% of all waste produced in Ireland that same year. In 2022, the construction industry accounted for roughly 6% of the employed population in Ireland. The article was a great opportunity to reiterate our call to action for more interdisciplinary approaches to tackling climate change within the Irish construction industry.
