Adapt, Reuse
Demolition Take Down was featured in the international platform Adapt, Reuse. It is a collaborative platform for discovering and sharing ideas, practices and transdisciplinary approaches of adaptive reuse.
In the article Ciarán speaks of the practices previous experience of participatory design work, and how we have learnt first-hand about the difficulties of vacancy and dereliction faced by communities in towns and villages across Ireland. He speaks of how the reliance on top-down decision-making, together with all of the commerce associated with the built environment, led the practice to establish Demolition Take Down as a multi-disciplinary initiative to enable a better, more holistic understanding of the factors surrounding this stasis.
