Installation Launch
Come visit the Demolition Take Down installation in the central courtyard of IMMA from September 14th. This installation was designed in response to our explorative research and cross-disciplinary conversations carried out this year.
It will represent the amount of construction and demolition waste created in Ireland over each person’s lifetime. It considers the impact of demolition on value and waste; culturally, financially, and environmentally. We see the installation as a conversation-starter and an opportunity to engage with the public & wider construction industry on the topic of demolition.
It will be a key feature of the Earth Rising festival and Culture Night 2024 (September 20th – 22nd). Look out for our construction industry student invigilators during the Earth Rising festival from the School of Architecture, Building and Environment along with students from the School of Surveying and Construction Innovation at TU Dublin. They are eager to hear your thoughts.
Demolition Take Down is funded by Creative Ireland, Building Change, IPUT Real Estate, RIAI & SCSI. It is a recipient of the Creative Climate Action fund.
Demolition Take Down is by Islander Architects in partnership with the School of Architecture, Building and Environment at TU Dublin.
